Brushless motor is composed of motor and electronic driver. The structure of the motor is similar to that of the classical AC hydro magnetic synchronous motor. The stator has multiphase winding and the rotor is inlaid with permanent magnet. Due to the need of operation, there is also a rotor position sensor. The position sensor detects the relative position between the axis of the rotating lf magnetic field and the axis of the stator phase winding, and determines the power on state of the phase winding at each time, that is, the on / off state of the multi output switch of the electronic driver, and the corresponding phase winding of the motor is connected / disconnected.
Therefore, the brushless motor can be regarded as an AC synchronous motor driven by a special electronic inverter with position sensor feedback control. From another point of view, the brushless motor can be regarded as a DC motor with the stator and rotor inverted. Generally, the armature winding of DC motor is in the rotor, and the permanent magnet is on the stator.
The so-called commutation of brush motor is actually the commutation process of its phase winding. It is accomplished by means of brushes and commutators.
The commutation process of BLDCM phase winding is accomplished by the position sensor and the power switch of inverter. Brushless motor (BLDCM) uses electronic commutation to replace the mechanical exchange of ordinary DC motor. It has similar mechanical characteristics and linear torque / current characteristics of ordinary DC motor.
